About Grande Masonry

Grande Masonry is a third-generation full line masonry, masonry restoration, and waterproofing general contractor. We have been providing historic restoration and new construction for both brick and stone for more than 65 years.

From preserving and enhancing the unique characteristics of New England’s historical and landmark structures, to erecting aesthetically pleasing modern buildings, we deliver a consistent commitment to excellence and a sustained dedication to developing innovative solutions to even the most challenging masonry projects.

OUR TEAM

Stephen J. Grande

President

As President of Grande Masonry, Steve is responsible for direction and oversight of all operations. He is in charge of all business development and is involved with all projects currently under construction.

Steve has worked in the masonry business for over 37 years and has risen through the industry by holding positions of Estimator, Project Manager, Vice President and President.

Steve is on the Board of Directors for the Mason Contractors Association in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island along with BuildRI, a labor-management partnership that promotes union construction. He also serves as a Trustee on the New England Bricklayers Benefit Fund and Apprentice Committees.

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a BS degree in Civil Engineering, Steve brings his vast experience and a unique hands-on style of management to bear in leading the Grande Team.

Mark C. Grande

Vice President, Field Operations

As Vice President, Field Operations, Mark is responsible for all construction activities in Grande Masonry’s new masonry, restoration, and waterproofing programs. Mark has directly organized and run the three largest and most comprehensive historic restoration projects that have been performed in Massachusetts in the last decade. He has also had direct operational responsibility for the largest masonry and stone project built in New England over the last decade. His duties include establishing all construction means and methods, manpower scheduling, logistics,  quality control assurance, and implementation and maintenance of all safety programs.

Mark has worked in the masonry field for over 37 years, holding positions as Foreman, Superintendent, and Vice President of Restoration, and Vice President of Field Operations..

Mark has been a member in good standing of the International Laborers Union of North America for 35 years. He is a graduate of CCRI with an Associates Degree in Business Administration.

Timothy W. Withers

VICE PRESIDENT - PRECONSTRUCTION/TECH SVCS

As Vice President of Preconstruction, Tim has the overall responsibility for operational management of each restoration project. Tim works with our preconstruction support staff on development of work scopes, general conditions, and special conditions. Tim directs all phases of pricing, budgeting, conceptual estimates, bidding, and proposals. His duties also include client relations, presentation, and technical support, specializing in historic restoration. Prior to joining Grande Masonry in 2004, Tim founded and served as President of Capital Precast from 1989 until its sale in 2003. He also founded and served as President of JSI Construction Corp., a nationally certified historic masonry and masonry restoration company from 1985 until 2001.

Tim brings over 40 years of masonry experience to the Grande team. Tim is or has been active in APT International, Associated Builders and Contractors, Boston Society of Architects (Professional Affiliate) and other professional organizations. He attended Columbia College and NY State University with a degree in Business Administration.

Alexander F. Grande, Jr.

Vice President- Safety and Quality Control

As Vice President of Safety and Quality Control of Grande Masonry, Alec is responsible for all development and implementation of Grande’s Corporate Safety Program. Alec also serves as our Quality Control supervisor. His duties include safety inspections, quality control inspections, and documentation,  reporting, and records for each.

Alec has over 40 years experience in the masonry field having directly supervised some of the most complicated and comprehensive projects completed in New England. During his long career he has held positions as Mason Foreman, Field Supervisor, Vice President, and Vice President of Safety and Quality Control.

Alec has been a member in good standing of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen for 40 years and is a skilled master mason. He is a graduate of Dean Junior College with a BA in Business Administration.

James Delsanto

Director of Estimating and Operations

As Director of Estimating and Operations, Jim has responsibility for supervision of take-offs, estimates, and proposals along with assisting in day to day field operations. His duties include planning, preparation of bid documents, spreadsheets, and RFI’s for all projects and preparation of all proposals. Jim also assists in planning and executing field operations.

Jim brings 30 years of masonry experience to his work. He joined the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen in 1995. He has since held positions of mason, mason foreman, project manager, estimator, and senior estimator, chief estimator, and vice president. He is fully trained and proficient in all of the latest take-off, bid, and spreadsheet programs.

His vast and varied experience as both a field supervisor and senior manager, his strong work ethic, and attention to detail is invaluable in helping ensure the continued success of the Grande team.

Justin Grande

PROJECT MANAGER

As a 4th generation Grande mason, Justin has embraced his love of the masonry craft that was instilled into him since he was able to start working for the family company and has 15 years of experienced field work.

Justin became a member of the International Laborers Union in 2007 and later joined the International Brick Layers Union in 2008, where he has been a member in good standing since that time. He graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with a bachelors degree in construction management in 2011 and is presently working in the field as project manager on high profile restoration and new building projects.

Justin now splits his time between the field and the office, enveloping all aspects of the masonry business.

Nick Bonugli

Senior Project Manager/ Estimator

As Senior Project Manager & Estimator, Nick  is responsible for for planning and managing many Grande’s projects.  His duties include client contact, product submission, and project management. Nick works closely with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure smooth performance and documentation of each project. He provides expertise in graphics including CAD and 3D capabilities,

Nick brings over 27 years construction experience to the Grande team with significant masonry, masonry restoration, concrete repair and restoration, and waterproofing experience.

Nick is a graduate of Mt. Ida College in Newton, MA, and a former board member of ICRI. He is a former member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local 3 union. He also maintains membership in Chapter 25 of the American Society of Professional Estimators. Nick brings a unique and valuable set of talents to the Grande team

Blake Twerdy

Senior Estimator

As Senior Estimator, Blake has responsibility for takeoffs and estimates on all new and restoration masonry work. His duties include preparation of bid documents, spreadsheets, and RFI’s for all projects and working with Vice President of Preconstruction in preparation of all proposals.

Blake brings 27 years of masonry experience to his work. He joined the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen in 1993. He has since held positions of mason, mason foreman, project manager, estimator, and senior estimator. He is fully trained and proficient in all of the latest take-off, bid, and spreadsheet programs.

His vast and varied experience, attention to detail, and exceptional work ethic help ensure successful completion of all projects awarded as a result of his efforts.

Scott Lindemann

Estimator

As Estimator, Scott has responsibility for takeoffs and estimates on waterproofing, new masonry, and masonry  restoration work. His duties include preparation of bid documents, spreadsheets, and RFI’s for all projects and working with our Chief Estimator in preparation of all proposals.

Scott brings 23 years of construction estimating experience to his work. He his proficient in all estimating software, AutoCad, Primavera, and Miscrosoft programs. He has since held positions  project manager, estimator, and senior estimator and scheduler throughout his career. Scott works closely with the entire estimating team to ensure attention to detail and accuracy.

His varied experience, technical training, and exceptional work ethic help ensure successful completion of all projects awarded as a result of his efforts.
